Road Machinery & Supplies Co. is searching for a Service Manager to join its team at its Negaunee, MI location. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction, safety and profitability. Responsibilities :
Responsible for safe and productive working environment of the shop(s)Ensure that all department meetings are scheduled & completed (Toolbox, Safety, etc.)Create a realistic and accurate Capital Expense Budget annually, and manage department to meet that budgetImplement and maintain procedures to meet our customers' expectations for after-hours serviceWork closely with the General Manager on issues involving customers, employees, equipment, etc.Work closely with Sales personnel to communicate opportunities for salesEvaluate processes continually to ensure work orders are closed in a timely mannerEnsure credit policies are administered correctly and according to established guidelinesMaintain the facility and reinforce established practices and procedures to RMS standardsVisit customers as neededMaintain the highest level of customer satisfaction through communication, professionalism and urgency before, during and after the saleUnderstand local markets and work with Sales and Administration to ensure market-based pricingAble to travel locally to customer job sites.Ability to be to be on call for nights and weekends or on a call rotationHelp recruit and hire branch personnelManage workforce to ensure maximum productivity and effectiveness through mentoring and appropriate training opportunitiesResolve conflicts in a timely and professional mannerEnsure that all branch employees are given regular, fair and accurate performance evaluationsWork in a cooperative manner with team and superiorsQualifications / Skills :
A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in service operations at the management level is required.4 years related supervisory / leadership experience strongly preferred4 years of technical or mechanical knowledge requiredKnowledge of product line and / or a willingness to continue education on new products requiredStrong computer and organizational skills requiredStrong people leader who develops his / her employees through coaching and feedbackStrong business acumen and ability to make good and timely decisions for customers and the companyPersonal Attributes : Creative Thinking, Conflict Management, Customer Focus, Integrity, Planning and OrganizationAble to work responsibly, safely, and intelligently.Have the desire to take action, improve, and be appreciative.Possess the capability to engage with customers, co-workers, and vendors in a respectful manner.About Road Machinery & Supplies Co.
