Administrative Clerk
1. Job Purpose/Objective:
Starting at $15/ Hr
The primary function of this position is to provide administrative support to the School Bus Division and ensure that all paperwork (accident reporting, payroll, billings, updated Criminal & Traffic abstracts, current DOT physicals, renewal of TB tests, maintain documents of all drivers and aides, etc.) is processed to the various departments in a timely fashion
2. Essential Job Functions:
- Office Duties
- Calculate and input all employees’ hours for payroll
- Answer all incoming calls
- Ensure all qualifying documents are updated and current
- Process all work orders and billings for maintenance
- Process Private school applications and passes
- Set up files for new hires / process out terminated employees
- Order office supplies
- Collect & Deposit funds for all C.O.D Charters
- Update daily charter logs
- Ensure that schedules and passes are sent out in a timely manner
- Attend all meetings - Staff
- Performs other duties as assigned.
3. Essential Skills (Minimum qualifications individual must possess when entering position) – i.e. skillsets, education, certifications, etc.
- High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and / or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must be computer literate (able to utilize and maneuver through Windows applications)
- Able to type 35 – 40 wpm
- Able to utilize calculator and various office machines
- Must be able to work flexible shifts
- Skilled in the use of computers, adapts to new technology, keeps abreast of changes, learns new programs quickly, uses computers to improve productivity
- Recognizes problems and responds, systematically gathers information, sorts through complex issues, seeks input from others, addresses root cause of issues, makes timely decisions, can make difficult decisions, uses consensus when possible, communicates decisions to others

4. Working Conditions/Job Environment
- Light work- exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force to move objects. Worker sits most of the time
- Reaching, standing, walking, stooping, and lifting occasionally
- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately
- Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discriminations in sound
- The worker is required to have visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing numbers and figures as well as viewing a computer terminal
- The worker is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions (such as in typical office or administrative work)
- Some remote work may be necessary
