Job Summary
RIT is seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our Human Resources leadership team as the Director of Compensation. This is a unique and exciting opportunity to lead a team of four and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our institution through the Staff Career Architecture project and the implementation of a new ERP system (Workday).
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, implementation, and administration of RIT's compensation programs, ensuring alignment with the university's strategic goals and market competitiveness.
- Play a critical role in driving a Staff Career Architecture project, focusing on improving staff career pathways, job classifications, and compensation structures that support employee development and retention.
- Provide insight and expertise to transition to a new ERP system (Workday), ensuring seamless integration of compensation processes and data.
- Collaborate with senior leadership, HR partners, and other stakeholders to develop and communicate compensation strategies and policies.
- Conduct market analyses and benchmarking studies to maintain competitive and equitable compensation practices.
- Provide expert guidance and support to managers and employees on compensation-related matters.
- Work closely with CHRO to support the President and Executive Compensation Committee of the Board of Trustees on executive compensation matters.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CCP) preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compensation management, with a strong background in project leadership and change management. Experience in higher education environment a plus.
- Proven experience with ERP systems, preferably Workday, and a deep understanding of compensation modules and data integration.
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace.
