Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Perfusionist to join our dynamic healthcare team. Perfusionist will play a crucial role in managing and operating the heart-lung machine during surgical procedures, ensuring optimal patient care and safety. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, acute care, and the ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
Duties
- Operate and monitor cardiopulmonary bypass equipment during surgical procedures.
- Administer medications and fluids through IV infusion as directed by the surgical team.
- Perform catheterization procedures as necessary to support patient needs.
- Maintain sterile processing protocols to prevent infection and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to provide comprehensive care.
- Conduct venipuncture for blood draws and IV access as required.
- Document all relevant patient information accurately in medical records.
- Stay current with advancements in perfusion technology and techniques.
Requirements
- Certification as a Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) or equivalent qualification.
- Strong knowledge of pediatrics is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in medical terminology related to perfusion and acute care settings.
- Experience with DME (Durable Medical Equipment) management is an asset.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
Pay
- $141/hr - Regular
- $212/hr - Overtime
- $1246/wk - Stipends
