About The Role
- Support and communicate the strategic direction for the payroll team set by senior leaders
- Assist senior leadership in communicating, implementing and monitoring objectives and key results (OKRs)
- Monitor the day-to-day operations of the payroll function from start to finish
- Assist with tax preparation processes
- Update payroll process, timelines and expectations documentation as needed
- Run reports for leadership to assist with tracking strategic goal accomplishment, including measuring objectives and key results (OKR) effectiveness
- Partner with senior leaders to optimize existing payroll processes
- Stay up to date on payroll regulations and assist in implementation and communication of process changes as needed
- Partner closely with internal teams such as tax, finance, compensation and legal to tie threads across the organization
- Communicate and embody the culture, vision and overall direction of the team
- Manage team member performance through clear expectation setting, holding team members accountable and administering/completing the performance evaluation process
- Develop team members through conducting regular 1:1s, sharing feedback and providing resources and training as needed
- Train new team members using training plans and by assigning mentors
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and best practices through attending professional workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3 years of payroll processing and tax experience
- Demonstrated and trusted ability to make decisions and think critically through an escalated situation with little to no guidance
- Ability to deliver feedback to leaders across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, accounting or related field
- 2 years of leadership experience
- Fundamental Payroll Certified (FPC)
- Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
