We are expanding our team to include a Certified Medical Assistant (or someone willing to become a Certified Dermatology Technician) with dermatology experience to join our awesome team!

Our team of Medical Assistants ensure patients receive quality health care services by providing clinical support to our Dermatologist. The Medical Assistant will room patients, update medical records, take medical histories, prepare our patients for examinations or procedures, assist during diagnostic procedures, and provide support as directed.
What you should have:
- Great Communicator: type, read, and spell at a professional level regardless of the other's background & position.
- Must be able to scribe and summarize provider and patient interactions according to the standards of the practice.
- Critical thinking and problem solving.
- Proficient with Tech: EMR, proficiency with ModMed a plus
- Want to learn Dermatology!
- Certification not required but preferred
- Dermatology experience preferred
What you'll do:
- Interview patients to obtain medical information.
- Show patients to examination rooms and prepare them for the physician.
- Record patients' medical history, vital statistics, or information such as test results in medical records.
- Prior authorizations.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
- Collect tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
- Explain treatment procedures, medications, diets, or physicians' instructions to patients.
- Help physicians examine and treat patients, handing them instruments or materials or performing such tasks as giving injections or removing sutures.
- Authorize drug refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
- Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping them neat and clean.
- Clean and sterilize instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.
- Schedule patient appointments
- Change dressings on wounds and remove sutures.
- Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
- Contact medical facilities or departments to schedule patients for tests or admission.
- Perform general office duties, such as answering telephones and voicemails, taking dictation, or completing insurance forms.
- Inventory and order medical, lab, or office supplies or equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and sample analyses.
- Photographing skin diseases.
- Administering injections of local anesthetic and steroids.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 40 per week
