Rolling Plains Management Corporation is seeking to find a qualified candidate to fill a newly created position, Travel Training Specialist for our Transportation Division, SHARP Lines.

This is a full-time hourly position reporting to the Transportation Director. Regular work hours are 8am to 5pm. Some variation in work hours may be required to cover special events, training, or work projects. This person must have the capacity to work with others in a group effort to meet department goals.

The primary role of the Travel Training Specialist is to enhance and promote regional mobility within the service area. The Travel Training Specialist consists of short and long-range planning and management activities and projects for improving public transportation services and promoting existing transportation services. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Organize and participate at community outreach activities to educate the communities we serve about transportation.
  • Knowledge of ADA requirements/or willingness to learn and adhere to ADA requirements.
  • Ability to work with families to explain the transportation process, how to schedule trips, bus schedules and transportation rules/policies.
  • Create and implement a community and business outreach plan, including supervising the activities and services provided by the Transportation Department.
  • Oversee and implement public events, meetings, open house information sessions, etc.
  • Conduct quarterly telephone surveys to get client input regarding service levels provided by Dispatch and Vehicle Operators.
  • Reaches out to businesses (contractual agencies) to ensure service satisfaction.
  • Assist clients with transportation needs, providing them information and educating them about the services the agency provides.
  • Monitors and documents complaints and seeks solutions with the assistance of the Transportation Director
  • Becomes proficient in understanding and making presentations to the public, peer agencies, and media about the services we provide.
  • Promotes awareness of the various options that are available in the community, especially among the underserved and hard to reach population, provide travel training.
  • Ability to work independently and with others in an effective manner.
  • Ability to analyze data, define problems, identify potential solutions, develop implementation strategies and evaluate outcome.
  • Assisting those who walk-in our door for the first time and giving them information about RPMC and SHARP Lines and other resources.
  • Ability to communicate and work with community leaders, stakeholders, community agencies and families on transportation needs and other needs of clients in the RPMC service area.
  • Corresponding to emails and phone calls.
  • Following up with clients and other agencies to ensure clients received the services.
  • Travel is required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.
  • Must be willing to transport clients as required for them to understand routes and pick up and drop off areas.

  • Assure that any on-the-job accidents are reported immediately and followed-up with appropriate forms.
  • Submit timesheets accurately and timely as directed by management.
  • Report any suspected fraud and abuse to the direct supervisor or other appropriate management.
  • Assures accurate and appropriate records/documents are developed and maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring a productive work environment.
  • Provide excellent customer service, both internally and externally.
  • Ensures that all staff and external customers are provided timely, accurate responses to all inquiries.
  • Ensures work product quality and quantity control by reviewing documents, reports, forms, records, or other materials for content, completeness, or accuracy.
  • Notify management on any real or perceived problems.
  • Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations, streamline work processes, and work cooperatively and jointly with clients, other staff, vendors, and monitors to provide payroll services.
  • Must communicate positively with others.
  • Must use initiative, independent judgment and problem solving within established procedural guidelines.
  • Must work in a team environment as well as independently with good time management skills and flexibility.
  • Ensure that clients of all races, religions, family backgrounds and cultures are treated equally, with respect and consideration.
  • Show up to work, on time, ready to work scheduled hours.
  • Use all basic office equipment in an efficient and effective manner.
  • Establish, maintain and foster positive and harmonious working relationships.
  • Must be focused on excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for maintaining a tidy and presentable work area.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops as specified by management.
  • Be a cooperative and enthusiastic team player.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree desired.
  • Associates degree (AA); or
    • Equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or
    • Two-year related experience and/or training; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be deadline driven with excellent organizational skills.
  • Maintains the highest levels of integrity and confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, and work well under pressure to establish priorities, meet deadlines and accomplish goals and objectives.
  • Ability and desire to work with a diverse population and low-income individuals required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organizational skills required.
  • Possess advanced computer skills with proficiency and working knowledge of personal computer operations within a Windows Microsoft environment, including Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Ability to understand and carry out instruction and procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively.
  • Must possess ability to provide reliable self-transportation capable of regional travel.
