Control Software Architect

Rolls-Royce are running a hiring event in Cincinnati on 29th/30th January to support our expansion of the Controls Engineering team. As a Control Software Architect you will have the opportunity to meet with an be interviewed by some leaders with our team.
The event will also provide you with knowledge around our projects, products and the exciting work you could get involved in if successful. The role will be based out of our Indianapolis site, however there is an opportunity to work remotely, or we can offer a relocation package to support your move.
As a Control Software Architect, you will specialize in developing control software architectures and modelling these systems and ensuring they are functionally suitable for use on an engine program and airframe. You'll usually work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.

Key Accountabilities:
- Strong development experience
- Experienced in design and development of embedded software solutions
- Ensure software architecture work products are delivered
- Provide architecture and associated process direction, guidance and training
- Review architecture engineering work products for quality and completeness of technical content
- Resolve complex problems by selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and knowledge
- Exchange complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way
- Embrace agility to tailor technical message to a broader audience with various levels of technical knowledge and understanding
- Continuously seek simplicity and identify opportunities for improvement
Basic Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline with 5 years Software (traditional and model-base) experience, OR
- Master's degree in STEM discipline with 3 years Software (traditional and model-base) experience, OR
- PhD in degree in STEM discipline with experience in Software
- In order to be eligible for consideration, you must be a U.S. Citizen or permanent resident.
Preferred Requirements:
- 5 year of experience in embedded safety critical software engineering
- Use a DO-178 compliant software coding process.
- Control software experience
- Digital logic design experience
- Familiar with Model based software design and simulation (Simulink or similar)
- Familiar with working in agile software development teams
- Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers
- Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top Secret security Clearance
- Ability to present technical data to senior engineers and management
