The Facility Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the Maintenance Technicians and coordinating activities to keep the warehouse running on a 24/7 environment. Supervises and assists in repairs, breakdowns, alignment, trouble shooting, and operations of building and plant equipment. Initiates preventative maintenance action, schedules, and supervises preventative maintenance activities. The Facility Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Facility Manager and/or head of the unit/ department.

This Position Will Require Travel
- 3 days per week - report to Edison, NJ Facility
- 2 days per week - report to Phillipsburg, NJ Facility
- Schedule day-to-day activity for the Maintenance Technicians ensuring that work is prioritized by level of importance.
- Supervise and provide lead technical knowledge in repair of breakdowns and troubleshooting.
- Determine whether problems can be resolved in-house, or an outside specialist is required and make recommendations to the Facility Manager.
- Monitor the workload of existing staff.
- Collaborate with the Facility Manager to document facility(s) needs for fiscal year including cost value of equipment repair or replacement.
- Manage employee time and attendance in Romark Logistics time system.
- Report weekly on staff productivity.
- Order materials for up-and-coming workload.
- Work with the Facility Support Administrator and monitor the work order system.
- Inspects Maintenance Technicians work for quality and completion.
- Schedule contractors and coordinate projects; to be discussed prior to the start date with the Facility Manager. Also, inspects projects during and after completion.
- Purchasing of building materials, tools, fuel, etc., to be approved by Facility Manager prior to purchase.
- Assist Facility Manager with performance reviews for FMA’s
- Schedule maintenance activities as equipment is made available or as production plans change.
- Manage snow removal and salting of all Romark Logistics designated areas and be prepared as weather advisories become available.
- Review invoices and approve or reject as required.
- Perform daily walk through of facility(s) ensuring all is in good repair.
- Identify and eliminate safety issues.
- Instruct and enforce lock out tag out procedures.
- Instruct and enforce all hot works permit work.
- Assists the Facility Manager in the completion of periodic performance reviews.
- Provides continual feedback on both positive and negative performance using informal discussions; recommends formal progressive disciplinary action to Facility Manager.
- Exemplifies safe work behaviors and champions safe work practices with all employees.
- Participates in special projects and assignments as required.
- Performs other duties as required and assigned.
- 2-5 years of experience in a Facility Maintenance supervisory role with a proven track record of similar duties of other hands-on skills.
- Leadership: previously demonstrated ability to lead people and get results through others.
- Must be experienced with electrical, plumbing, painting, carpentry, pneumatics and hydraulics, welding, light forklift (double pallet jack load wheels only) or machine repairs, etc.
- Strong communication skills both orally and written required. Must be able to maintain a positive and professional attitude always.
- Work requires significant attention to detail in safety, record keeping and logging, inspecting, and testing.
- Must have demonstrated ability to use a variety of computer software applications including Word processing, spreadsheets, email, and internet (Microsoft applications).
- High school diploma or GED, minimum required.
- Must be able to lift to 75 lbs., heights of at least 50 ft., repeatedly bend, grasp, push, pull and lift throughout the shift.
- Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, outside and inside, throughout the year.
- Must be available to work overtime and be able to respond 24/7 when needed to address emergency situations.
