Job Title: CLEANING ATTENDANT
Department: MAINTENANCE
Reports To: OPERATIONS MANAGER ON DUTY
Type: PART TIME
Pay: $13.25 per hour
SUMMARY
Part-Time Housekeeping Attendant who will provide excellent customer and janitorial services while maintaining a professional presence.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· This position will provide superior customer service
- · Maintain a constant professional presence
- ·Clean equipment, trash cans, restrooms, offices, parking lots, public areas inside and outside buildings, windows, restaurants, counter tops, chairs, furniture, TVs, and any other decorative objects in the racing area, common areas, or offices
- Vacuum carpet, sweep and mop tile floors, clean spills
- Clean any bio hazardous materials upon occurrence
- Remove trash from trash containers, floor and counter areas and place into appropriate dumpster
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NONE
QUALIFICATIONS
- Ability to multitask – working a wide variety of posts with multiple departments
- Ability to operate various cleaning equipment such as vacuum cleaners, brooms and dustpans, floor machines, mop and bucket, and Ecolab cleaning solution systems.
- Ability to use properly various cleaning chemicals and be able to handle chemical fumes and airborne particles (on occasion)
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous cleaning experience a must
- Able to interact with the general public in a professional manner
- Effective communication (read, understand and speak English)
LANGUAGE SKILLS
- Effective communication (written and verbal)
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: NONE
REASONING ABILITY
- Ability to identify and quickly respond to areas needing attention and potential hazards
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
- Must qualify annually for the Maryland State Racing Commission License.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations, including; ability to push, pull, carry and lift up to 25 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time, and the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel, and balance when performing job.
