Overview

JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for leading teams to deliver projects that span across one or more business units/companies. Responsibilities include managing resources, schedules, and financials throughout the project’s life cycle. This includes management of issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. The Senior Project Manager will run large, strategic projects on a day-to-day basis, make sure that the project produces the required deliverables within the specified constraints of time and cost, and achieve the desired results.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage a portfolio of complex initiatives that span one or multiple lines of business.
  • Provide on-site leadership for project teams by building and motivating team members to meet project goals.
  • Full project lifecycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for one or more initiatives simultaneously.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with business needs and priorities.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, testing, and deployment management activities.
  • Participate in establishing practices, templates, policies, tools, and partnerships that facilitate project success.
  • Prepare estimates and detailed project plan for all phases of the project.
  • Procure and manage adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Manage the day-to-day project activities and resources.
  • Effectively control and manage issues, risks, dependencies, and changes in scope associated with large, strategic projects.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues to all levels of the organization.
  • Coach, mentor, motivate, and supervise project teams, program teams, and junior project managers.
  • Maintain a project portfolio.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including executives, functional department leaders, and project sponsors.
  • Lead large, strategic projects as required, such as the ERP deployment, as aligned with the business strategy.
  • Perform post-implementation program/project reviews to determine benefits realization and achievement of overall objectives in line with IT and overall corporate strategy.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • 5-10 years’ experience in project and program management.
  • Experience in successfully leading large, complex projects and programs on-time, on-schedule, and within budget parameters.
  • Experience with the Infor M3, or other ERP systems is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in project management.
  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within field.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
  • Excellent listening, interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability.
  • Experience documenting, project tracking and management reporting.
  • Effectively leads and coordinates with other team members and with employees throughout the organization.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Strong aptitude for both business and technical perspectives.
