- High School diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge and understanding of African-American culture
- Bridge information from schools on enrollment paperwork, attendance, school performance issues, school policies and procedures, health notices, conferences, teacher or administrative communications
- Participate with families at school conferences and IEP meetings
- Act as a communication liaison from parents to school or school to parents including home visits when appropriate.
- Communicate with appropriate teachers and other district personnel as necessary on academic matters.
- Promote family participation in school conferences and events
- Promote student self-advocacy and relationship building
- Organize culturally specific clubs and activities

Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a cultural liaison to engage with students, staff and families to promote and support student achievement through bridging the gap between the culture at home and the learning environment; promote meaningful communication between home and school; and work with individual or small groups of students to become successful participants in their schools and communities. This is a school-year position working 25 hours per week, starting as soon as possible.

Compensation: Starting salary range is $23.44 - $27.13 per hour.
