What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Technician I (Oakland - AM Shift) position at Rotisystems?
General Description
This position is responsible for the inspection and testing of manufacturing processes and products to ensure the product safety and quality. Daily tasks include routine quality checks, QA inspection, record keeping, CCPs monitoring, equipment calibration, assistance with shipping and receiving, etc.
Essential Duties
- Conducts routine quality checks and preventive control points monitoring which include but not limited to temperature check, label inspection, equipment swabbing, product weight verification, package integrity & organoleptic, raw materials inspection, etc.
- Prepares samples for third party lab analysis as needed.
- Calibrates test equipment – thermometer, scales, etc.
- Maintains accurate documentation of food safety and quality inspection results.
- Performs daily pre-operational for production equipment and facility prior to start of production.
- Conducts daily GMPs inspection.
- Monitors assigned area for food safety and quality issues (GMPs, facility, potential contamination, food defense, etc.)
- Identifies and reports when products are not in compliance with established specifications.
- Follows regulatory (FDA/USDA) standards, SQF, GMPs, CCPs and SOPs.
- Embodies the spirit and culture of RotiSystems and has a passion for food
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and work in cold and hot environments.
- Able to lift, bend, twist, push and pull materials.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1 years of experience in food manufacturing/production or lab technician experience.
- Previous QA experience in USDA establishment is preferred.
