The County is currently accepting applications for the position of SOCIAL WORKER III (Adult Protective Services). This position is responsible for responding to, assessing, and evaluating adult abuse, neglect, or exploitation. This position manages a caseload of persons under guardianship who have a variety of diagnoses, including medical conditions, severe and persistent mental illness, intellectual and developmental disorders, substance use disorders, and a combination of these diagnoses. This position will also provide adult protective services that include but not limited to the intake process, receiving and evaluating reports of alleged abuse, neglect and/or exploitation of disabled adults; case management activities aimed at mobilizing protective services in those cases where maltreatment is confirmed and the need for protection is substantiated. Additionally, this position will monitor and conduct complaint investigations of licensed adult care facilities.
This position requires general knowledge of basic social work principles, techniques and practices and their application to specific casework, group work and community problems; knowledge and understanding of advanced social work investigative and assessment techniques; general knowledge of both governmental and private organizations; general knowledge of resources from within the local community.
Requires a Master’s Degree in Social Work; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and one year of human services work experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field and two years of directly related work experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Adult Services experience preferred. MS Office experience is preferred. All degrees/coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. Starting Salary $59,000- $64,000 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
