The County is currently accepting applications for the position of SOCIAL WORKER III (Permanency Planning). This position maintains a caseload of children in foster care; provides intensive casework services to families and children; works to reunify families when feasible; and provides placement services.
Requires a thorough knowledge of social work principles, techniques, and practices and their application to complex casework, group work, and community problems; considerable knowledge of family and group dynamics and a range of intervention techniques; and skill in establishing rapport with a client and in applying techniques of assessing psycho-social, behavioral, and psychological aspects of the client’s problems.
Minimum qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Social Work; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work and one year of human services experience in the areas of case management, assessment and referral, supportive counseling, intervention, psycho-social therapy and treatment planning; or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human services field and two years of directly related experience. Experience in NC child welfare roles, crisis intervention and/or interviewing and assessment related to safety preferred. Bilingual applicants preferred. Degree/Coursework must be from an appropriately accredited institution. If degree is not in Social Work, please submit a copy of transcript with application. A valid driver’s license is required.
Starting Salary $59,000 - $64,000 (commensurate with experience) and excellent benefits package available.
