Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient and accurate loading and unloading of shipments from our dock. You will work closely with team members to maintain a smooth workflow, adhere to safety standards, and meet shipping deadlines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and Unloading:
- Efficiently load and unload shipments from bobtails and trailers.
- Ensure all items are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Use appropriate equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Report any safety hazards or maintenance needs immediately.
- Maintain a clean and organized dock area.
Equipment Maintenance:
- Conduct routine checks and basic maintenance on dock equipment.
- Report any equipment malfunctions or concerns to the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience in warehousing, shipping, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to operate forklifts and other material handling equipment (certification may be required).
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks, including lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions:
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels.
- Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds regularly.
Compensation and Schedule:
- $18-20/hr
- Shift start time 5pm - 10pm
- Monday - Friday
- Part time position only
