What are the responsibilities and job description for the DIRECTOR OF RESIDENT CARE position at Royal Senior Care Management LLC?
Summary: To coordinate all aspects of resident care to promote their comfort, safety, and physical and mental well-being while preserving their right to live the highest quality of life.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: (Note: Other duties may be assigned.)
- A primary responsibility is to professionally support the residents and their families. They rightly expect that the DRC will listen to them with respect and care for them using consistently good, professional judgment. Whenever possible, everything significant that happens regarding the resident must be communicated to a family member, in addition to communication with the resident’s physician when appropriate. Interactions with families should be professional and positive especially when dealing with requests for information or action.
- Correctly and completely implement doctor’s orders for the resident whether from a doctor who sees the resident in the building or off campus. Telephone orders must also be processed correctly. In addition to medication orders, doctor’s orders may include durable medical equipment (DMEs) and supporting paperwork and PT, OT, X-rays, Lab Tests, and home health services, of which expertise in ordering such services is also required. When unable to arrange these services resident family and/or doctor’s office must be notified.
- Professional processing of the actual medication for the residents. Supervise the medication system and educate, support, and correct if necessary, the Med Techs who assist the residents with the self-administration of medication.
- Oversee the hourly staff to ensure they have and understand their work assignments. This includes any housekeeping tasks, apartment preparation, or other special duties performed for residents.
- Follow up on all assigned tasks to ensure completion.
- Ensure adherence to uniform and all company policies.
- Always present a professional image of The Plaza at ParkSquare in front of staff, residents, and family members.
