General Summary of Duties:

Under general supervision of the Area Manager, this position is responsible for the overseeing the operations of the programs, including but not limited to the following: corrective action and supervising regular and sub staff members; assessing and prioritizing individuals’ needs and assisting in the formulation of care plans and goals; overseeing all training and individuals daily activities; maintenance of all individuals files/records; keeping individuals safe, clean and comfortable; observing and reporting the physical conditions of individuals; maintaining and submitting various reports, records, bills, inventories, receipts; assuring all staff follow their schedules; obtaining substitutes (when needed); maintaining the facility and vehicles; assuring compliance with State contract, worker’s compensation, OSHA, corporation policies, DDP Rules and other regulatory agency requirements; attending management meetings, PSP and IR meetings, and others as needed.

Job Responsibilities

I. Individual Training:

A. Protects rights of individuals according to agency and state policies and reports all violations as required by policy.

B. Attends PSP’s as requested by supervisor(s)

C. Develops training programs as designated by supervisor(s)

D. Assist supervisor in complying with daily training schedule.

a. Maintain and document data collection, as specified in PSP.

E. Assist other staff in maintaining compliance with program and contract goals.

F. Supervise individual’s shopping, if needed

G. Keep all individual training notebooks and permanent files updated and completed as requested by supervisor.

H. Handle PSP duties, as requested by supervisor(s).

I. Handle behavior problems according to procedure specified by supervisor(s).

J. Completes assessment of individuals, as required by supervisor(s)

II. Individual Care:

A. Assist in preparation of individual meals, as requested by supervisor(s)

a. Follows approved menus, as designated by supervisor(s)

B. Ensure proper appearance of individuals.

C. Arranges for individual medical needs promptly and professionally as requested by supervisor(s)

D. Supervise individuals’ general hygiene at all times.

E. Assures that medication is administered properly and recorded accurately.

F. Assures that all medications are secured and stored property as required by policy.

G. Assist individuals with checking and savings accounts, if requested or needed

H. Assists in scheduling medical appointments and taking individual to the doctor.

III. Reporting/Recordkeeping Duties:

A. Completes and submits incident reports, seizure reports, emergency procedures, etc., as required by policies.

B. Reports and documents in a timely manner all illnesses, injuries, emergency procedures, or any other unusual incidents, as required by policy.

C. Spends for food and supplies within budget provided by supervisor.

a. Maintains receipts on all expenditures.

D. Maintains balanced checkbook.

E. Assist in completing inventories, as needed.

F. Maintain log book on vehicle usage.

G. Conduct and document evacuation drills and safety/sanitation checklist, as requested by supervisor.

H. Document participation of individuals in various activities

IV. Home Related Duties:

A. Assist other staff in maintaining the home, furniture and yard in good, clean condition, according to health and safety standards.

B. Completes minor repairs, as needed or requested.

C. Completes maintenance on vehicles, as requested by supervisor.

D. Reports damage or necessary repairs to supervisor

V. Supervisory Duties:

A. Oversee and be responsible for the documentation for:

a. PSP data

b. Daily checklists

c. Medication tracking

d. Assessments

e. Menu coordination and purchasing

B. Supervise and assign job related duties of direct care staff.

C. Assure that staff follows scheduled hours of work, if requested.

D. Follow policy and procedures for staff supervision and make recommendations for appropriate actions for rule infractions and/or staff training needs to Area Manager and HR Manager.

E. Obtains relief staff or fills in for absent staff when needed and assures that required staffing is maintained as required by management—must be available by phone when Area Manager or GH Manager is absent.

F. Assist Area Manager in assuring that time cards are turned in a timely manner.

VI. Other Duties:

A. Carries out policies/procedures of agency.

B. Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA at all times.

C. Attends all staff meetings, as requested by supervisor(s)

D. Attends all training sessions, as requested by supervisor(s)

E. Keeps First Aid, CPR, medical certification and MANDT current, as required by policy.

F. Follows scheduled hours of work.

G. Reports any driving infractions which may affect insurability immediately to supervisor(s)

H. Accepts other job-related duties, as assigned by supervisor(s)

I. Maintains professional communication with staff, colleagues, parents, guardian, and regulatory agencies.

VII. Transporting Individuals: The Weekend Manager position is required to transport individuals to medical appointments and/or recreational outings and therefore must meet the following requirements:

A. Valid State of Montana driver’s license to operate a motorized vehicle in accordance with state law.

B. Verification of insurability per RSD insurance criteria through Motor Vehicle Driving record inspection.

C. Licensed driver for 3 or more years.

D. Report all driving infractions immediately to supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

(If not currently certified must become certified within 3 months from date of hire for required certifications and training.)

1. Two years of general work experience

2. Valid MT driver’s license with an insurable driving record per RSD vehicle insurance criteria.

3. College of Direct Support Tier I

4. College of Direct Support PSP & Advanced Section

5. CPR/First Aid Certification

6. MANDT Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Two years’ formal education beyond high school, preferably in the field of human services

2. Previous experience working with developmentally disabled community.

3. Previous supervisory experience

4. Successful completion of agency in-service

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $19.73 per hour
