Position Summary

RSI is recruiting for an Operator who is responsible for supporting implementation of site-specific treatment systems. The position involves specific technical operation and maintenance scope with support from a Senior Operator and/or Operations Supervisor.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Hiring Range: $26.59 - $ 27.76 per hour. (The anticipated starting salary is based on the posted minimum requirements for this position. The offered salary will be based upon the selected applicant’s education, training, and experience.)

This position is anticipated to travel less than 5% of the time.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain active groundwater treatment systems.
• Operate and maintain active leachate collection and treatment systems.
• Operate and maintain domestic wastewater treatment systems.
• Inspect treatment systems pursuant to site plans and procedures.
• Sample to support operation of treatment systems pursuant to site plans and procedures.
• Support project implementation via Integrated Work Control Process (IWCP) and Integrated Safety Management System (ISMS).
• Provide subcontractor oversight for maintenance and repairs, with support from Operations Supervisor.
• Support site and disposal cell inspections.
• Conduct groundskeeping activities in and around operations systems using a riding mower.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education and Years of Relevant Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years of relevant experience

Licenses and Certifications

• Valid Driver’s License
• Certified Treatment Operator certification preferred.

Required Skills and Abilities

• Technical expertise and experience with site treatment systems.
• Ability to support IWCP and Integrated Safety Management System requirements.
• As part of the Fernald site team, participate in rotating work schedules to ensure daily on-site coverage, including weekends.
• Sufficient process knowledge and experience within their area of responsibility.
• Proficient in use of hand tools and powered hand tools.

Essential Physical Requirements 

Medium: Work involves moving objects by exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, or an above-negligible amount and up to 10 pounds constantly. Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for light work.
