JOB SUMMARY
-
Responsible for providing speech-language pathology (Speech Therapy) services as directed upon referral of a physician. The Speech Therapist is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice in the provision of these services. Speech therapist will provide services to pediatrics thru geriatrics in locations of inpatient hospital, outpatient hospital, and school-based therapy.

Hospital administrative policies and procedures

Federal and State therapy guidelines

Knowledge of third-party payer guidelines; Medicare/Medicaid payor guidelines

In-depth knowledge of complex varied techniques, principles and instrumentation in the field of Speech-Language Pathology and dysphagia, and simple basic computer operations

Education-
-
Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology with State of Indiana and National licensure requirements for Clinical Certification of Competence (clinical Fellow also acceptable with clinical supervision available)

Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in Indiana

Experience-

Preference given to therapists with at least 2 years experience with the pediatric populations

Authority and Accountability-
Extensive exposure to confidential information or matters

Frequent contact with various persons or groups within and outside of the hospital including employees, department managers, physicians, patients, volunteers, visitors and outside agency personnel

Must be able to work with, communicate with, and manage different types of people

Reports changes in treatment, condition, frequency of visits to physician

Must have valid driver license and dependable transportation
