Job Title: Metal Machine Operator
Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Metal Machine Operator to assist with the efficient operation of our tube laser machine. This is an entry-level position ideal for individuals who are eager to learn, follow safety protocols, and contribute to our high standards of production. The role requires a commitment to quality, productivity, and flexibility in supporting various aspects of the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Machinery: Assist with the operation of the tube laser machine, ensuring smooth and continuous production.
- Material Handling: Load and unload heavy bunks of 20 ft tubing using a mechanical crane, adhering to safety protocols.
- Cross-Training: Learn to operate multiple machines, becoming proficient in both the mechanical and software aspects of equipment.
- Quality Assurance: Inspect materials for defects and inconsistencies, ensuring all output meets company standards.
- Maintenance & Repairs: Diagnose and address machine issues, perform routine maintenance, and execute basic repairs to maintain optimal functionality.
- Productivity & Safety: Maintain high levels of productivity while strictly following safety and quality guidelines.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and suggest ways to improve machine efficiency and workflow, reducing downtime.
- Support Across Departments: Assist in various tasks beyond machine operation, including cleaning machines, sweeping floors, grinding metal, powder coating, or supporting wood and leather departments.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience: Previous experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment preferred.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with metal properties, characteristics, and metal bending processes is a plus.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 75 lbs frequently and stand or walk for 10 hours per shift.
- Attention to Detail: Capable of exactly replicating previous run setups.
- Adaptability: Willingness to learn, take direction, and work in various areas as needed.
- Work Ethic: A strong sense of urgency to meet deadlines and production goals.
- Coachable: Open to feedback and dedicated to professional growth.
Work Schedule:
- Monday–Thursday: 6:00 AM–4:30 PM (Four 10-hour shifts per week)
