Field Sales Representative (Fleet and Fuel)
Summary: S&G (Stop and Go) is an American Company founded in 1999 that is locally owned and locally committed. We are an expanding group of convenience stores based out of Toledo, Ohio with over 65 locations.
S&G is looking for a highly motivated individual to fill our Field Sales Representative (Fleet and Fuel) role. We are looking for this person to have 2-5yrs of demonstrated success in consultative/solutions-based selling in a business to business environment in a related industry.
Position Overview: The Field Sales Representative is primarily responsible for expanding the number of S&G Fleet card account users and supporting the growth of our emerging Dealer network. This field-intensive role requires the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within teams. The primary focus of this position is to drive business development by fostering partnerships and maximizing fuel sales. The compensation for this role will include base salary, plus commission, and a company car (Limited to company business use)
Job Requirements
- MUST have 3 years of prior experience in sales/account management, preferably in the fuels/credit card industry (Prior Dealer experience helpful).
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or 5 years of equivalent work-related experience.
- Proficiency in MS Office tools such as Excel, Word, email, etc.
- PDI experience helpful/desired.
- Experience with CRM tools.
- Good driving record. Must be able to qualify for company auto insurance coverage.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet the physical demands section.
- Will require travel throughout Northwest Ohio on a daily basis with a minimum of one day per week visiting our office to debrief and receive updates on current affairs.

- Relationship management: creating relationships with new customers and maintaining relationships with existing customers.
- Effective Store/Field visits: planned store visit agenda, taking notes, agreeing on action items, gaining buy-in for agreed courses of action.
- Training new customers on the use of the Fleet Management program.
- Presenting customer solutions using the company’s product and service offerings.
II. Sales and Selling Skills
- Business-to-business sales experience.
- Selling Fleet Management products to automotive and diesel fleets.
- Organizing sales territory and maintaining a regular call cycle
- Duties include making consistent sales calls on a specific area of responsibility and customer base.
- Demonstrated ability to discover, negotiate, and close deals.
- Cold calling and customer business development.
- Demonstrating a consultative selling approach by uncovering customer needs, aligning value proposition, building strong rapport, and ensuring effective sale cycle management.
- Working with marketing to plan and execute lead generation campaigns.
III. Business Knowledge and Understanding
- Understanding the P&L.
- Knowledge of fuel pricing and pricing strategy.
- Experience in the energy sector or with fuel distribution.
- Familiarity with fleet management systems and payment card solutions.
- Preparing various reports and performing administrative duties.
- Strategic planning and aggressive marketing.
- Strong time management and organizational skills, able to prioritize to ensure focus on value-added sales activity. MUST be a self-starter.
- Utilizing CRM and various systems and tools to track and maintain customer information and manage sales cycle activity.
- 80% of this role will be focused on medium and large construction and fleet organizations.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to occasionally lift objects up to 50 pounds/frequently lift objects up to 10 pounds.
- Ability to rarely perform repeated climbing and fine hand manipulations.
- Ability to occasionally perform repeated squatting/kneeling/stooping, twisting, and pushing/pulling.
- Ability to frequently perform repeated bending and reaching.
- Ability to continuously perform repeated simple hand grasping.
- Ability to work in intermittent temperature for short periods of time, e.g., outside at the pumps.
- Available to work a variety of shifts and/or days of the week consistent with the demands of the retail environment, which includes weekends, evenings, and other high activity periods.
