This hourly position begins with paid training. Starting rate $25 per hour - earn up to $30 per hour commensuarte upon experience.

Overview

S&S Transit provides paratransit service in Allegheny County?s eastern suburbs. Paratransit service is available 365 days a year from 6am to 12pm each day. S&S Transit?s mission is to provide safe reliable transportation and to provide a great working environment for its employees.

Overview:

• Schedule all applicable paratransit trips each day of the week. The daily schedule is based on customer demands and our contractual agreement with ACCESS.
• Assist in reservations for trips, indicating to the call-center times that may be overbooked, or time changes on trips that have already been booked. The scheduler must be able to understand trip capacities as it relates to our staffing each day.
• Assist in reservations with regards to trip times and the applicability to the ADA law.
• Ensure schedules meet all applicable standards with regards to on time performance and on time arrivals. Ensure that schedules are made in the most productive, customer focused manner, and meet all applicable contractual productivity requirements
• Ensure that customers do not exceed excessive ride times.
• Advise management of driver staffing needs in a timely fashion
• Anchor standing trips to driver schedules prior to scheduling demand trips each day
• Receptive to correction from management on schedules that must be moved or changed. Have a positive attitude, be punctual and reliable attendance.
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent

Experience:

• The ideal candidate must understand the ACCESS system and has experience scheduling within the Infinity system. S&S is willing to train from the ground up but pay is commensurate with experience.

Skills and Knowledge required:

• Knowledge of local areas is a must to understand most productive and quick scheduling of trips
• Ability to read and understand maps
• Ability to read, understand, interpret and explain our transit systems operating rules, regulations, policies and routes
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Think logistically
• Utilize computer software

Pre-Employment Requirements:

• Must submit to drug test and background check

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed. Normal work schedule is Sunday thru Thursday from 11am to completion of schedules.
• 100% of work is in an office environment
• The employee is generally subject to long periods of sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen
