A Brief Overview

The Onboarding Coordinator is accountable for coordinating hiring/on-boarding for Avera LTC facilities and works closely with applicants, Neighborhoods and Avera Sacred Heart Human Resources to ensure a seamless process with employee placement and retention. Supervises Administrative Assistants for the facility. Supports the hospital's goal of excellence in patient care in a Christian, caring environment by facilitating positive employee relations and supporting department goals. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.

What you will do

  • Coordinates onboarding of new staff or staff changing positions, testing, nursing, SS, Activities and Administrative positions in LTC.
  • Coordinates with Supervisors to insure timely scheduling and completion of employee orientation. Coordinates with Supervisors orientation expectations.
  • Advises management/Supervisors of employee relations concerns.
  • Refers inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs to appropriate Supervisor.
  • Maintains current knowledge regarding job openings, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills.
  • Coordinates with Human Resource department, Supervisor and the new hires their start date, appointment time and where to report.
  • Builds connectivity with new hire in their new role to help reduce turnover and improve job satisfaction.
  • Insures timely and continued contact with applicants/Household Leaders/Human Resources through entire hiring and on-boarding process with new employee through the first six months.
  • Participates in job fairs as requested.
  • Maintains appropriate records as required: Open Positions, Position Control for nursing, Attendance Database, Turnover, and other data analysis tied to retention for facility.

The individual must be able to work the hours specified. Required Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) - Licensing Board within 1 Year

Preferred Education, License/Certification, or Work Experience:

  • Associate's
  • Two years health care setting experience
  • Previous office clerical experience
