Summary

The Application Solutions Developer will apply software development skills and knowledge of third-party applications to provide innovative and effective solutions which support and enhance credit union business operations. The Application Solutions Developer will work with various departments within the credit union to review, analyze, and customize new and existing business systems including designing, coding, testing, debugging, troubleshooting, and documenting custom developed solutions.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Translate business requirements into functional applications
  • Analyzes, reviews, enhances, and tailors existing programs to increase operating efficiency or to adapt to evolving business requirements
  • Ensures that software development operations are performed in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures
  • Ensure that all applications are developed and implemented with security of member data as a foundational requirement, using industry standard secure development methodologies in line with established credit union security policies
  • Performs a variety of complex software development tasks, such as designing and developing program logic
  • Maintains system integrity and performance throughout the application lifecycle
  • Evaluates business requirements and develops reports, applications, and solutions that meet or exceed business needs
  • Recommends product revisions or enhancements to applications based on end user feedback and business requirements
  • Investigate and resolve program failures
  • Collaborate with IT staff, business users, and vendors to define and address system-related issues, ensuring comprehensive problem resolution
  • Develops and manages code for application integrations to the core banking system and ancillary systems
  • Utilizes tools and languages, including but not limited to, PowerOn, Python, Visual Studio, SSMS, C#, ASP.NET, jQuery, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, SQL, and PowerShell
  • Attends courses and seminars as needed to maintain knowledge of current application development methodologies and technologies
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements: Your position has specific procedures that must be followed to comply with Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and Bank Secrecy/Patriot Act. You will receive annual training to keep you current on any changes to these policies/procedures to assure compliance. Failure to comply with procedures may cause termination of your position as well as possible monetary penalties from the federal regulatory agency.

Education And/Or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science is preferred; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, certification, and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job requirements satisfactorily.
  • Experience in both shared and outsourced solutions, as well as support of in-house information systems in a multi-site client-server environment
  • Knowledge and experience of credit union core platforms
  • Understand and have a working knowledge of information security laws and regulations (including GLBA, US Patriot Act, FFIEC, etc.)
  • One to Three years of software development experience
