What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Control Inspector position at Safran Power Units?
1.0 SUMMARY OF JOB PURPOSE
Assures quality standards by performing inspections of incoming material, in-process material, and final product in a MRO environment. Examine components to ensure that New Production & MRO functions are made according to specifications by performing the following duties.
2.0 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Maintain all calibrated equipment used in the determination of product quality for MRO and New Production activities. Ensure all the precision measurement equipment in use is in calibration and has proper tagging and records
• Format and release all Quality System documentation such as manuals, procedures and work instruction associated with the AS9100 and business processes. Transition all paper documentation into the approved electronic media. Store all quality system master copies of these documents. Prepare and release all departmental quality reports.
• Verifies assembly, installation, and testing of components to ensure that workmanship and materials conform to company specifications, assembly instructions and manual procedures.
• Inspects materials and products to ensure protective covers and locking are conforming to specifications.
• Inspects precision parts and examines material for surface defects and conformance to specification. Rejects defective or worn parts and allocates replacement parts. Records findings in database.
• Performs final inspection of documents to assure all defined assembly and test tasks are completed and in compliance with required regulations and internal documentation.
• Perform visual inspection of product prior to delivery. Create or update logbooks and CofC.
• Performs shop floor audits to determine compliance with regulations and company procedures
• Comply with all safety, health and environmental regulations as prescribed by law, company's policies and regulations requirements. Pro-active in the Safran HSE standards and procedures within their daily work, staying alert to potential safety hazards when learning or implementing something new (skills and/or equipment).
3.0 SCOPE AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Define work scope and customer requirements on incoming product.
• Manage and coordinate non-conforming product and disposition as needed.
• Assist with process improvements
Qualifications:
4.0 REQUIRED COMPETENCIES: Education/Knowledge/Skills and Abilities • Associates degree from an accredited college or university; or two to five years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. • Intermediate Level – Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and experience using ERP and Metrology software. • Knowledge of professional practices, sources of information, and rules and regulations that must be interpreted, adapted, and applied to the unique requirements of the organization. • Basic understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerance as well as standard and metric measuring equipment. • Quality Control, Part Inspection, aviation maintenance manuals and ISO 9001 experience preferred.
