Reporting to the Head of Wealth Management Advisory Services, the Wealth Advisor is responsible for growing a region, actively engaging with the institutional advisory team and clients, to expand client relationships and build new ones through active business development means. The successful candidate will also be responsible for understanding clients' financial goals, implementing financial plans, and seamlessly integrating financial planning, risk management, investment management, tax planning, and estate planning.
** This role is based in Richmond, VA. It is a hybrid position requiring on-site presence at various client locations within the Richmond, VA area, as well as regular on-site collaboration with the team at the Richmond, VA office **
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Partner with our SageView Institutional advisors and clients to expand relationships.
· Develop and execute business development strategies to grow the client base of your region (E.g., participation in lead gen programs, COI networking, events, etc.).
· Adhere to SageView’s core processes and service model for delivering wealth management.
· Maintain clear communication with clients regarding service expectations and deliverables.
· Develop and manage relationships, ensuring a consistent and positive experience.
· Grow your client base through client referrals, expanding client relationships.
· Collaborate with internal support resources, including Operations, Investment Management, and other internal teams to deliver a positive client experience.
· Develop and implement comprehensive financial plans customized to meet clients' needs and goals, covering financial, risk, tax, investment, and estate planning.
· Understand client’s financial objectives and craft portfolio strategies to help meet their goals in collaboration with SageView’s investment management strategists.
· Analyze clients' risk profiles and design risk management strategies to protect and preserve their wealth.
· Act as a liaison with clients' accountants, attorneys, and other advisors to create a cohesive team for comprehensive wealth management, where appropriate.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent experience.
· Series 65 required and Certified Financial Planner® required, or a willingness to complete upon onboarding in a timely manner.
· Formal sales training in a financial service context, strongly desired.
Experience:
· Proven track record of achieving sales targets and acquiring new clients in wealth management or financial services industry.
· Demonstrated ability to identify client needs and provide solutions to support their goals.
· Proven experience as a Wealth Advisor with a track record of success in client service and wealth management.
· In-depth knowledge of financial planning, risk management, investment management, tax planning, and estate planning.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Computer Skills:
· Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams, Zoom, Excel).
· Experience with Practifi (Salesforce) or similar CRM preferred.
· Familiarity with Custodian Platforms (e.g., Fidelity, Schwab) preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
· This is a full-time position primarily working in person out of the Richmond, VA office. Typical hours are Monday through Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and may fluctuate with business needs, at the direction of or with management approval.
