Description
SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and self-directed professional to fill the role of remote Project Manager to serve on a team supporting Veterans Affairs. The Project Manager will be part of a high performing, cross-functional team that is tasked with supporting IT Systems that enable the delivery of healthcare services to Veterans.
Your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serve as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
Responsibilities:
- Directly leads new product development, continued operations & maintenance, and continuous strategic improvement
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
- Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with other project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives
- Responsible for ensuring contract requirements and subcontractor responsibilities are being accomplished including working on the definition and implementation of project planning techniques to provide visibility on the contract
- Manage all phases of the SDLC from analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance
- Create SDLC and contract mandated project and product documentation
- Anticipates, identifies, evaluates, and escalates issues and risks.
- Builds and maintains effective working relationship with VA Managers, Directors, and other functional leaders. Leverages relationships to influence positive and collaborative outcomes
- Must ensure Product Operations and Development processes comply with VA policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Coordinates staffing needs for the project with various sub-contractor organizations
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field and 10 years IT experience
- Experience in the federal sector with an emphasis on regulatory environment that adheres to compliance with NIST, HIPAA, FISMA, FISCAM or similar compliance standards.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint, MS SharePoint
- Ability direct team members adherence to technical standards
- Ability to work independently and as a team member in a fast-paced development process
- Must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and able to sustain your own assigned project work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
- Ability to communicate effectively in oral, written, and graphical form with team members and management
- Demonstrates excellent facilitation, decision making, and creative problem-solving skills
Desired Qualifications:
- 7 years of experience leading complex, cross-functional teams combining strategy, technology, data, process, business operations, and change management using Agile DevSecOps methodology.
- Experience working in a Health Information Technology environment preferably VHA/VBA
- Experience with JIRA
- One or more professional certifications (e.g. PMP, PgMP, PfMP, Agile, ITIL 4, Change Management)
Target salary range: $125,001 - $150,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
