Premium Auditor I

The use of grindstones to sharpen tools can be traced back to humans’ earliest days. Craftsmen bent over the stone with their faces so close that it later became an idiom for focusing heavily on one’s work. 

While there are no grindstones in the literal sense at SAIF, our team of auditors keep their noses to the figurative kind every day. They process and analyze business records, including payroll, general ledgers, check registers, and ownership records, and make decisions to guarantee that our customers pay no more or no less than they should. The influx of these records is fast and constant—procrastination or loss of focus could lead to a record backlog—and unhappy customers.

The work of our new auditor will vary slightly from others in that they will only process records submitted electronically. To do this job well, you’ll need sharp tools, including critical thinking to make tough, sound decisions; excellent time management skills; the internet, to find details about a business that may not have been provided in their records; and Excel and other processing programs.

Note: Flexible workers may be required to travel to SAIF’s offices in Salem.

Recommended qualifications:

• Three or more years of experience that demonstrates strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills and the ability to work in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
• Other combinations of skills and experience may be considered.

Typical hiring range:‏‏‎ ‎$66,984‏‏‎ ‎-‏‏‎ ‎$78,805.‏‏‎ ‎The pay range for this position is annually based on a full-time schedule. Actual compensation will be determined using factors such as experience, skills, training, certifications & education.
