Digital Engineer – Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) & Control Systems
About the Role :
We are seeking a Digital Engineer to support and maintain our Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) program and refinery control systems (DCS & PLC). You will work with process control teams, engineers, technicians, and operators to ensure safe and reliable refinery operations. This role includes troubleshooting, compliance, cybersecurity assessments, and participating in an on-call rotation for after-hours support. Key Responsibilities :
SIS Program Support :
- Assist in project design reviews, commissioning, and testing
- Develop and execute automated logic testing
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Loop Acceptance Tests (LATs)
- Maintain compliance data records and conduct SIS audits
- Train staff on SIS interlocks, functionality, and cause / effect diagrams
Control System Maintenance :
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications) :
Preferred Qualifications :
TUV SIS or ISA / IEC 61511 certification
Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)
Hands-on experience with DeltaV DCS
5 years in a refinery or instrumentation role
Strong cybersecurity awareness in process control environments
Compensation & Work Conditions :
Salary Range : $100,000 - $150,000 per year
Potential for 20% travel (FATs, LATs, training, site support)
Extended work hours during maintenance outages
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
