Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to oversee and manage the operations of our food packaging facility. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership and communication skills, in-depth knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) regulations, and be well-versed in USDA and FDA regulations related to food safety. This includes the ability to revise existing and/or creating a new HACCP plan. This role is critical to ensuring the effective and efficient operation of the plant, while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the plant, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
- Ensure the plant operates in compliance with HACCP protocols and USDA/FDA regulations, ensuring product safety and quality.
- Lead and manage a team of plant staff, providing training, development, and performance feedback.
- Implement and maintain efficient inventory management systems and ensure accurate record-keeping of all shipments, receipts, and inventory levels.
- Manage the safety program, ensuring the plant operates in a safe manner in compliance with OSHA and company safety guidelines.
- Conduct regular audits of plant processes, ensuring compliance with HACCP guidelines, USDA requirements, and other relevant regulations.
- Work closely with other departments (Quality Control, Procurement, Logistics, etc.) to ensure smooth flow of products and materials.
- Review and analyze operational reports to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, cost control, and overall plant performance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe plant environment at all times, ensuring that all health and safety guidelines are followed.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plant management, ideally in the food production or food packing industry.
- Strong knowledge of HACCP and USDA/FDA regulations related to food safety, packing, handling, and storage.
- Experience managing and leading a team, with a track record of fostering a high-performance work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify operational inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Certification in HACCP, and/or USDA/FDA-related training is a plus.

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
Expected hours: 25 – 35 per week
