Saint Francis University invites applications for a full time Director, Patient Care Technician/Instructor of Practice in the Division of Professional Studies. The Director is responsible for the development and operation of the Patient Care Technician Program, which includes budget, supplies and lab equipment. The Director/Instructor is responsible for participating in classroom and simulation training, teaching on line, in the lab, and through field experience, as well as scheduling clinical instruction for students to meet the program certification objectives as outlined by the PCT accreditation and guidelines. He/She will help build and maintain relationships with local hospitals, agencies, and school partners. The Director/Instructor will provide support for all healthcare simulation operations in the Curry Innovation Center and provide back up assistance to the Experiential Learning Commons on the main campus, as needed.
Minimum of an associate degree and/or related experience of up to three years within the healthcare field. Background and knowledge of basic patient care which comes from completion of a certification as a Patient Care Technician, Emergency Medical Technician, Medical Assistant, Nurse, etc. Certification as a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) or willingness to become certified. Clearances and clear background check are required. Teaching experience is a plus.
