Job Summary:
The Accounting Intern serves to proactively support business development efforts and cultivate the culture of Salas O’Brien as a growing national firm.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Review and learn the organization's accounting operation.
- Work closely with accounts payable staff on A/P, expense reports, FedEx, and credit card reconciliations.
- Contribute to monthly accounting close cycle.
- Support lease accounting.
- Review, learn, document, and coordinate implementation of accounting systems and accounting control procedures.
- Conform to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations.
- Keep up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying areas where the person can contribute and share some workload from accounting colleagues.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
- Assist with project controls accounting as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Working towards Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
- Knowledge and experience of working with accounting software, Deltek Vision, a plus
- Proficient on Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Acute attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work with all levels of management.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.
- Working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, evaluation, and scientific method.
- Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
