Nature & Purpose of Position
The Department of Kinesiology at Sam Houston State University (Main campus) is inviting applications for undergraduate research assistant positions in two labs: the Biomechanics and Motor Behavior lab, and the Sport and Human Performance lab. These positions are open to students with an interest in biomechanics, sport, and exercise science. Applicants will assist in various research tasks, including data collection and analysis, lab equipment maintenance, literature reviews, and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting with research data collections and data analysis.
- Maintaining and updating laboratory hardware and software.
- Assisting with literature reviews and other research-related tasks.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Completion of KINE 3373 and/or KINE 4362 Biomechanical Analysis classes.
- Experience with motion capture systems, force plates, Wingate, EKG, SECA, DEXA, and/or EMG for data collection and analysis.
Other Requirements for the Position
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of data collection principles and practices.
- Professional communication skills with faculty, staff, students, and the public.
- Ability to follow instructions and work collaboratively.
