Sam Schwartz is a leading civil engineering, transportation, planning, and environmental firm known nationally for our ability to solve complex engineering and transportation problems with creative, multi-modal solutions. We are located in New York, NY, Los Angeles/Oakland, CA, Washington, DC, Chicago, IL, Jersey City, NJ, Seattle, WA and Tampa, FL.

The candidate will work primarily from our 322 8th Avenue, 5th Floor New York, NY office and will generally work 8-20 hours per week.

Responsibilities

Sam Schwartz is currently seeking a part-time Civil Engineering Intern (New York, NY office) to join an interdisciplinary team of consultants (planning, urban design, transportation engineering) working on transportation and civil engineering infrastructure projects currently focused on grading, drainage, stormwater engineering, transportation engineering, roadway, and complete streets design. The successful candidate will serve as a contributor on project tasks, including AutoCAD drafting, site/field visits and measurements, drainage analysis, technical studies, drawings, reports, and presentations.

Qualifications

The candidate will possess the following abilities: 

• Experience in AutoCAD is required
• Experience with Microsoft office is required
• Experience in MicroStation is not required, but preferred
• Excellent writing skills

 Requirements

 Candidates must meet the following requirements: 

• Working towards a civil engineering degree (bachelors or masters)
• Ability to work part-time, 8 to 20 hours a week
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
