Sampson Regional Medical Center is seeking a Laboratory Tech II to join the Laboratory Department!
Description:
The selected applicant will perform various waived, moderately and highly complex hematologic, chemical, immunohematology, immunologic/serologic, microscopic, and microbiological tests on specimens to obtain data for use in diagnosis or treatment of diseases. Will be responsible for obtaining specimens by capillary, arterial, and venous punctures. Will perform troubleshooting and calibrations. Participates in the quality assessment and performance improvement initiatives. May also orientate and train new employees and/or students.
Requirements:
- National certification as an MT/MLS/MLT by an approved agency (ASCP or AMT) required
- Two years Lab Tech I or II experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science or an Associate's degree in Laboratory Science from an accredited institution that includes successful completion of an approved clinical laboratory training program required.
- Knowledge of lab equipment, quality control methods, and report management required.
Hours:
12-hour shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays. May work other hours for the effective operation of the department.
