Manages instructional and performance support projects for the company. Works with clients, subject matter experts and designers to establish project goals, develops project plans, monitors progress towards plans and evaluate results. Provides work direction to multiple project teams. Works with other departments/organizations to establish training strategies and policies, which meets client training and performance improvement needs. Benchmarks, researches, and develops alternative approaches to performance improvement.

Primary Purpose

Duties And Responsibilities
- Promotes collaboration, partnerships and relationships among the participants in a design project. Identifies stakeholders and the nature of their involvement. Identifies subject matter experts to participate in the design and development process. Proactively consults with clients to diagnose and analyze training related problems or needs. Develops and maintains a strong partnership among client organizations. Recommends and advocates non-instructional solutions when appropriate. Acquires and applies new technologies to instructional design and project management.
- Applies business skills to managing instructional design process. Ensures the linkage of design efforts to strategic plans/objectives. Maintains management and stakeholder support of the design function. Provides cost benefit analysis for recommended solutions. Provides for the effective implementation of instructional products and programs. Develops and implements revision of products and programs. Recommends plans for organizational support of instructional programs. Assess benefits of existing and new technologies. Assist in developing/monitoring Instructional Design Technology’s long-term strategic business plan. Promote, apply and disseminate results of instructional design theory and research.
- Plans and manages multiple instructional design projects, including computer-based, web-based, management development and technical training. Establishes project goals/scope, develops project plans, monitors progress towards plans, troubleshoots project problems, provides guidance and works direction to project team members, debriefs team to establish lessons learned. Applies current research and theory to the practice of instructional design. Develops and guides development of materials that support the content analysis, proposed technologies, delivery methods and instructional strategies. Designs and guides design of instruction that reflects an understanding of the diversity of learners and groups of learners.
- Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Hybrid Schedule
- Although the schedule may vary, typically this will allow the employee to work onsite three days per week and remotely on the remaining workdays.
- Must reside in Southern California or be willing to relocate upon hire.
- Bachelor's Degree Instructional Technology, Educational Psychology, Adult Education, Management, related field, or equivalent training and experience.
- 5 years Instructional design experience.
- 3 years Project management experience.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- Ability to balance the workload and negotiate within team as well as with the client on deliverables.
- High degree of interpersonal communication skills for consensus building, facilitation, negotiation, counseling, leading, interviewing and influencing.
- Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to integrate different ideas and approaches to come up with creative solutions.
- Creative and conceptual skills required to grasp a myriad of ideas and business needs and create solutions using theories and concepts.
- Knowledge of statistical analysis tools and methods for evaluating training needs and effectiveness. Intermediate
