San Luis Valley Health is Hiring a Medical Staff Coordinator Near Alamosa, CO

San Luis Valley Health is looking for a Medical Staff Coordinator to serve as an essential link and resource between senior management and medical staff to coordinate the operational processes and oversight of physician and allied health credentialing and re-credentialing, meeting management and flow of information from medical staff committees through the Medical Executive Committee and Governing Board, while maintaining strict confidentiality and ensuring compliance with organizational policies and accrediting and regulatory agencies.

What You’ll Need:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Ability to type 50 words a minute.
  • Prior medical secretary experience and familiarity with medical terminology preferred.
  • CPCS certification preferred but not required.

What You’ll Do:

  • Oversee the processing of all medical staff and allied health staff credentialing and re-credentialing applications in accordance with medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, CMS standards, and State and Federal law.
  • Assists the Credentials Committee with development of privilege criteria, privilege delineations and other documents necessary to an effective credentialing process.
  • Oversees medical staffing at San Luis Valley Health Regional Medical Center and Conejos County Hospital.
  • Perform executive assistant duties supporting the Chief Medical Officer, including managing a schedule and communication, managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner, and arranging meetings.
  • Maintains knowledge of standards of the CMS, and state and federal regulations related to medical staff organization.
  • Maintains working knowledge of the medical staff's bylaws, rules and regulations, CMS standards, and state and federal law.
  • Maintains open communication with the medical staff, administration, hospital departments, practitioner's office staff and related health agencies, identifying and working to solve problems as they arise.
