We are seeking a Project Engineer I to join our team!
The ideal candidate will be ultimately responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing construction materials testing projects within the decided-upon budget, timeline, and scope, and leading of field technicians to achieve this. The Project Engineer I will review project relative documents and construction activities to assure compliance with project specifications. Services may be provided for existing or proposed projects in the public works, transportation, commercial & residential building mining and/or industrial sectors. They will also effectively monitor and present project updates to relevant stakeholders, clients, or project team members.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Follow safety rules and standards for all projects.
- Oversee large scale grading operations and infrastructure improvement projects.
- Perform various special inspections during construction i.e., reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, post-installed anchors, and Post-Tensioned foundations.
- Prepare daily field reports documenting site construction activities.
- Communicate directly with clients and potential clients regarding project needs.
- Manage Personal field equipment.
- Adhere to Alta Southwest company policies.
- Ability to perform in house training.
- Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be needed of available.
- Review proposals and reports for small and large projects of varying complexity.
- Perform quality control review of proposals written by others.
- Schedule and review laboratory and field data for inclusion in reports.
- Serve as a technical adviser for Field Technicans.
Education/Formal Training:
- We are looking for a recent graduates.
- All field level certifications (Nuclear Safety, ACI, and ATTI field) or the ability to obtain within 1 year.
- Experience writing daily field reports documenting site activities for review.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Continually required to stand. 8-9 hours daily
- Continually required to walk. 8-9 hours daily
- Frequently required to sit. 2-3 hours daily
- Continually required to utilize hand and finger dexterity. 8-9 hours daily
- Continually required to talk or hear over environmental and equipment noise. 8-9 hours daily
- Continually utilize visual acuity to operate equipment, read technical information, and/or use a keyboard. 8-9 hours daily
- Frequently required to lift/push/carry items no less than 50 pounds.
- Frequently work in elevated surfaces, environmental conditions such as rain, wind, snow, and extreme heat.
