Job Summary: The CNC Grinder will be responsible for producing premium quality, high precision carbide cutting tools using specific tool grinding machines and programs. Facilitates and operates CNC machines by programming, setup, operating the CNC machine, inspecting tools for visible flaws and correcting quality issues to ensure a consistent product.

Job Summary: The CNC Grinder will be responsible for producing premium quality, high precision carbide cutting tools using specific tool grinding machines and programs. Facilitates and operates CNC machines by programming, setup, operating the CNC machine, inspecting tools for visible flaws and correcting quality issues to ensure a consistent product.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None
- Responsible for the setup and offsets as required.
- Ability to accurately read blueprints.
- Inspect tools for defects using quality control tools.
- Responsible for accurate programming and machine operation.
- Consistently evaluates the quality of the finished product coming off the CNC machine through visual inspection and the use of measurement tools.
- Communications quality issues to programmers and/or General Manager.
- Check machinery on a daily basis to ensure functionality.
- Other duties assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2-3 years of previous 5-Axis CNC Setup / Operator experience utilizing Walter, Rollomatic or Numroto-controlled platforms
- Certification from a qualified training institution in the field of machining is ideal but not required.
- A well rounded knowledge of cutters, inserts and feeds/speeds is preferred but not required.
- Previous manufacturing experience is preferred but not required.
- Previous CNC Operator experience is preferred but not required.
- Programming experience is preferred but not required.
- Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures to carry out assigned tasks.
- Has a basic understanding of how the team integrates with others.
- May provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
- Provides solutions to problems in situations that are atypical or infrequently occurring based on existing precedents or procedures.
- Uses communication skills to regularly exchange information.
- Review and improve existing methods, tools and processes. Contribute to sharing best practice within your own area.
- Prolonged periods of standing with some lifting, bending, and twisting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, bend or kneel when required.
