Join our Coastal Wildlife team as a Shorebird Technician! This position will assist with shorebird monitoring and research on Sanibel and Captiva Islands and the surrounding area.
This individual will be responsible for assisting the Shorebird Biologist with monitoring of nesting shorebirds (state-threatened snowy plovers and least terns, and Wilson’s plovers), year-round shorebird monitoring, shorebird surveys for beach construction projects, data entry and proofing, coordinating volunteers, conducting public presentations, and preparing written content for newsletters and social media.
Additional responsibilities may include deployment and maintenance of trail cameras, occasional rescue and transport of sick or entangled/injured wildlife to wildlife rehabber, and miscellaneous tasks as needed.
