SUMMARY:
The position’s primary responsible is establishing contact with existing customers, identifying new opportunities, and following up on potential leads. Representatives will also monitor industry trends and develop plans to utilize those markets to expand revenue. The territory will include week Orange County, Ventura County, also visiting the bay area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conduct sales calls to promote and sell products and services.
- Establishes sales forecasting, budgeting and sets performance goals accordingly.
- Deliver revenue growth through the identification and development of new opportunities.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple customers’ projects simultaneously.
- Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
- Deliver presentations as necessary to clients, Management team.
- Works with customer’s Engineering, Production, Quality, and Purchasing personnel to determine needs and requirements.
- Travels throughout the territory to call on regular and prospective customers, speaks with customers at their facility or by phone.
- Displays or demonstrates products with samples, presents drawings for discussion or ordering.
- Works with Customer Service department personnel to keep account activities current and monitor quotes, orders, etc.
- Assists Quality, Engineering, and Customer Service to resolve customer complaints regarding sales and/or service.
- Visit existing customers, contact potential new customers and document all such contacts.
- Assist with the preparation of and attend trade exhibitions as required.
- Monitors customer preferences to determine the focus of sales efforts.
- Proven track record of long-term relationship and technical selling.
- Maintain a working knowledge of competitive products.
- Remain abreast of the latest industry trends and technology.
- Comfortable negotiating price discussions with customers while asking for purchase orders.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree Required.
- Technical background preferred.
- At least 10 years of professional experience in engineering, science, sales and/or marketing
- Sales Experience (Ideally in Biopharmaceutical/Biotech Market)
- Must have the ability to manage expenses and budget effectively.
- Ability to travel (some overnight travel required based on territory)
- Requires valid CA driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance.
- Ability to learn new technology and processes quickly.
