Member Services Representative II
Role
Serve as a liaison between the member and the credit union. Provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, and professionally handle the member’s daily needs. Provide a variety of transactional services to members including loan processing, closing and disbursal.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide general and specific member service whether in person or on the telephone, relaying information concerning credit union products, services, and policies.
· Respond to members’ requests, problems and complaints and/or direct them to the proper person for specific information and assistance.
· Open new accounts and service existing accounts. Provide members with all information necessary for membership including ordering new and existing checks.
· Handle transactional requests from members and assist tellers as needed.
· Conduct orientation interviews on Credit Union services and programs with new members.
· Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan payment discrepancies.
· Open and assist members with certificates of deposits/IRA’s.
· Enroll and assist members with Electronic Services including Online/Mobile Access, Card Controls and E-statements.
· Assist members with the loan application process to ensure completeness of information. Ensure that all members feel welcomed to the credit union and are supported professionally in the process.
· Interview and complete loan applicants in-person, by phone or electronically.
· Pull credit reports for all accounts and verify debts as well as gather background information on loan applicants, researching any discrepancies.
· Calculate debt-to-income ratios on loan applicants.
· Explain the loan process to include loan options, insurance requirements, loan policies, interest rates, payoffs, etc. Answer any questions the members may have.
· Present application and supporting information for approval.
· When a loan is denied, explain reasons for denial in a professional, courteous manner. Work with member to provide recommendations or alternative options for other possible ways to secure loan in the future.
· Notify vendor to place security interest of credit union on title and insurance documents if necessary. Ensure that title and insurance documents are accurate and up-to-date.
· Complete loan documents and input loans in the system. Disburse loans when approved.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $16.85 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
