The Retail Media Buying Manager, Retail Search, is responsible for leading the strategic planning, execution, and optimization of retail search advertising campaigns across key retail media platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of retail media buying, retail search management, campaign optimization, and analytics to drive product visibility, consumer engagement, and business growth. The Retail Media Buying Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, retail media networks, and external partners to ensure search campaigns are integrated, data-driven, and performance-focused.

What You Do.

  • Campaign Strategy & Execution:
    • Lead the development and execution of retail search advertising campaigns across platforms such as Criteo, Instacart Ads, Walmart Connect, and Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM).
    • Align retail search strategies with overall business objectives, ensuring campaigns drive product visibility, traffic, and conversion in key retail environments.
    • Optimize retail search bids, keywords, and product listings to maximize performance across platforms.
  • Collaboration & Integration:
    • Work closely with sales, brand marketing, and insights teams to ensure retail search strategies support broader business goals.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure retail search campaigns are aligned with innovation launches, tentpole events, and category priorities.
  • Performance Analysis & Optimization:
    • Leverage analytics tools and retail platform data to track and assess the performance of search campaigns.
    • Continuously optimize retail search campaigns by adjusting targeting, keywords, bids, and creative assets to meet KPIs.
    • Provide strategic recommendations and execute regular testing of keyword strategies to improve search ranking and conversion rates.
  • Keyword Targeting:
    • Develop advanced keyword strategies based on shopper behavior, category trends, and competitive analysis to reach target consumer segments.
    • Utilize platform-specific capabilities to enhance campaign precision and efficiency.
  • Trend Analysis & Innovation:
    • Stay up to date on the latest trends and advancements in retail media search, including algorithm changes and new tools, to maintain a competitive edge.
    • Evaluate new retail search platforms and emerging opportunities to keep the brand’s search campaigns innovative and relevant.
  • Vendor & Retail Partner Management:
    • Collaborate with retail media networks and external agencies to ensure campaigns are executed efficiently and within budget.
    • Test into new placements and beta opportunities within retail search platforms to optimize visibility and maximize results.
  • Budget & Reporting:
    • Manage campaign budgets, ensuring efficient allocation of spend across retail search platforms to meet business objectives.
    • Prepare performance reports with detailed insights and recommendations for senior leadership, guiding future search strategies.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Skills & Abilities

  • Proven ability to manage and optimize large budgets for search campaigns, driving performance and results.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience using retail media analytics tools for reporting and optimization.
  • Strong analytical mindset, with the ability to derive insights from data and act on them in real-time.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Your Education and Experience.

  • Bachelor’s degree Marketing, Communication, ore related field is preferred.
  • 5 years of experience managing retail search campaigns, ideally within a brand or agency setting.
  • Strong experience with retail media platforms such as Criteo, Walmart Connect, Instacart Ads, and Kroger KPM.
