Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Shipping & Receiving Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you'll be crucial in managing and optimizing our logistics and supply chain processes to support the development and production of our autonomous surface vessels. You'll collaborate with various teams to ensure that materials and components are delivered efficiently and on schedule.
Responsibilities
- Logistics Planning: Develop and execute logistics strategies to manage the transportation, warehousing, and distribution of materials and products. Work closely with internal teams and external partners to align logistics with production needs.
- Supply Chain Management: Oversee inventory levels, track shipments, and handle procurement activities to maintain smooth operations and prevent disruptions. Address and resolve any issues related to supply chain delays or shortages.
- Vendor Coordination: Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners. Negotiate terms and rates to achieve cost efficiencies and ensure high-quality service.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure that all logistics activities meet relevant regulations and standards, including DoD requirements. Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and other logistical documentation.
- Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline operations.
- Communication: Serve as the main point of contact for logistics inquiries. Provide regular updates to internal teams on shipment status, potential delays, and other critical information.
- Problem-Solving: Identify and address logistics-related issues quickly. Develop and implement contingency plans to manage risks and maintain operational continuity.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent. Additional certifications or training in logistics or supply chain management are a plus but not required.
- 3-5 years of experience in logistics coordination or supply chain management. Experience in high-tech or defense-related industries is a plus but not necessary.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in logistics management software and MS Office Suite.
- Ability to analyze data and generate actionable reports.
