Statement of Duties: Serves as a support to the Principal in the overall administration of the school.Serves on the SMHS Building Leadership Team.Serves on SMHS Emergency Response TeamWorks with the building administrative team to create an optimum learning climate for all students that promotes positive student interactions, learning, and quality curriculum.Takes the lead in student management and discipline for high school.Serves as one the primary bullying/harassment investigators for SHS.Coordinates with the SMHS Head of Safety and Security, and Principal to review, plan, and implement emergency drills.Create and monitor Safety/Support Plans in collaboration with school counselors.Implements designed practices to maintain safe, healthful school facilities.Responsible for monitoring and addressing student attendance.Works with the community, government agencies, and courts on student related problems.Supervises and evaluates teachers according to performance standards as assigned by Principal/designee.Provides leadership in developing support systems for students such as conflict mediation, teacher/student support teams, and mentors to minimize disruptive student behavior.Supervises non-athletic HS activities and approved student organizations.Supervises non-athletic, social school functions (i.e. dances, plays, proms etc.).Participates, whenever necessary, in team meetings, and individual or group conferences related to student programming and placement.Works the requisite hours needed to meet the responsibilities of the aforementioned job description and be responsible for other instructional and general duties as indicated by the directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and policies of the Saugus School Committee.Performs other necessary duties assigned by the Principal.Organizational Relationship or Line of Authority: Directly responsible to the SMHS Principal and to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees.
