Job Description : Job Summary :
The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for data modeling, Power BI dashboard creation and maintenance, ETL automation, ad-hoc reporting, and long term analytical and statistical projects. The Business Data Analyst will support cross-functional stakeholders and work with multiple sources and a wide range of data technologies and systems (e.g. SQL, Power BI, Hive, etc..)
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Creating and maintaining data dictionaries, use cases, functional and non-functional requirements documents, test plans and other project documentsAssisting with requirements facilitation and KPI definition / alignmentAssisting with user acceptance testingAssisting with dashboard demos and feedback gatheringThink strategically and analytically about business and technical challenges, with the ability to work cross functionallyAbility to distill problem definitions, models, and constraints from informal business requirementsDemonstrate deep understanding of source data from various internal / external systemsSupport key business systems and applicationsFurther establish the newly implemented change management processCommunicate and present findings to stakeholdersWork in an ambiguous environment, drawing out and developing business requirements to meet changing needsWorking with technical teams to capture data driven metricsQualifications
BA / BS in Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, or relevant work experienceDemonstrated strength in SQL, data modeling, ETL development, and data warehousingAdvanced experience in Power BIExperience with Power BI, Tableau, or other similar BI toolsThe ideal candidate will have extensive experience with development of metrics and business analytics, and have the aptitude to incorporate new approaches and methodologies, and a strong understanding of Data Warehouse (DW) concepts, while dealing with ambiguityExcellent business and communication skills are a must to develop and define key business questions and to build data sets that answer those questionsShould be able to work cohesively with stakeholders to understand business requirements and implement reporting solutionsYears of experience / education and / or certifcations required :
