Job Description/Responsibilities

Sole supervisor in Distribution Center.  Directs associates in the safe, efficient and successful operation of the Distribution Center. This position leads and develops warehouse employees in performing a combination of: shipping, receiving, loading and unloading trucks, stacking, picking, packing and palletizing finished products; and responsible for ensuring maximum safety, efficiency, quality, and customer service, all within an environment focused on compliance and continuous improvement.

• Drive continuous improvement in the Distribution Center through employee engagement. Focus on improving cases per labor hour and cost per case performance. Target improvement in safety, quality, service, and cost. Analyze and resolve problems relating to product quality, shipping errors or shipping delivery issues.
• Collaborating with manager, peers, safety experts and safety committee, lead safety program and ensure safe work environment in Distribution Center. Facilitate safety audits to prevent accidents and injuries. Drive towards zero OSHA recordables. Investigate and report accidents and injuries in the work place. Responsible for conducting EH&S audit report.
• Lead the planning and implementation of Distribution Center improvements through systems and processes to achieve an advanced operation. Plan, organize and direct improvements and corrective action plans. Ensure adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and Environmental Policies and Practices.
• Supervise Distribution Center employees to meet and exceed internal and external customer expectations. Ensure staffing levels are appropriate, employees are properly trained and orders are delivered efficiently and accurately. Ensure that customer orders ship out accurately and completely and that exceptions are resolved in advance and issues are communicated appropriately.
• Develop and maintain solid professional working relationships. Set a positive example and act in a manner consistent with company values. Actively participate in making the company the most desired place to be. Strive to be a role model for the Sazerac culture. Set clear expectations and maintain accountability. Create an environment that supports self-directed work teams and productive employee relations.
• With guidance from manager, lead the identification, streamlining, and documentation of shipping warehouse processes focused on reducing waste and improving the quality of work life. Participate in internal audits to measure and evaluate the performance of systems; use these measurements to improve operations and continually improve quality system by working with the various departments.
• Make fiscally responsible decisions and minimize operational costs in order to meet or beat budget goals for the operation. Drive down the cost per case shipped through continuous improvement activities.
• Implement a personal development plan to improve competency that will develop personal skills and improve performance. Improve at least one skill each year as agreed with manager and deliver on performance against outcomes. Train and supervise direct report(s) in improving skills and performance (fairness, respect, listening, etc.); and address opportunities from focus groups and survey feedback. Evaluate employee performance and skill level to determine skill improvement needs and develop improvement plans to address.

Develop excellent working relationship with the team in order to drive for the best business outcomes. Treat all employees with respect and develop high levels of expectations and accountability.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Yes Experience in manufacturing software (ERP, MRP, MPS, WMS)
  • Yes Supervisory experience

  PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience in process design, implementation and improvement
  • Self-motivated, innovative and solution-oriented mindset
  • Experience in Alcohol Beverage Industry or CPG overall
  • Yes relevant experience (minimum)
