About Stony Brook Renaissance School of Medicine: Stony Brook University is undergoing tremendous growth. Our adult outpatient psychiatry service is expanding, and we are looking for individuals who welcome the challenge and satisfaction of providing outpatient psychiatric care to a diverse population in collaboration with a motivated multidisciplinary team of clinicians, educators, and researchers.
About the Role:
The Clinical Assistant Professor of Psychiatry will serve as an Attending Psychiatrist in the Geriatric Outpatient Psychiatry Program. Responsibilities include direct patient care in the geriatric outpatient clinic including diagnostic evaluations, follow-up care, and teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows. Stony Brook Psychiatry has experienced rapid growth in telepsychiatry with immense success.
Responsibilities:
- Direct patient care in the geriatric outpatient clinic
- Diagnostic evaluations
- Follow-up care
- Teaching and supervision of medical students, residents, and fellows
- Engage in telepsychiatry
- Coverage for Inpatient Adult Psychiatry Unit and consults
- Opportunities for research involving dementia, depression, and aging related studies at the Center of Excellence for Alzheimer’s Disease (CEAD)
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- MD/DO (or foreign equivalent) with Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Adult Psychiatry
- Eligibility for New York State licensure
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clinical experience in Geriatric Psychiatry
- Track record of research
- Teaching experience in Psychiatry
- Experience in Telepsychiatry
