Commercial HVAC Technician

Industry leading, full-service Commercial/Industrial HVAC Contractor is looking for an HVAC/Chiller Service Technician to join their growing team in beautiful Asheville, NC. Their technicians are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service by meeting client needs and commitments. They are responsible for the profitable execution of assigned maintenance and project deliverables with a strong focus on client retention. All work performed will comply with state, local, and federal legal requirements and operate on the job with the highest ethics. Adhering to all company safety standards, as well as following consistent and repeatable procedures and processes, it is important for success in this role. Compensation commensurate with experience, up to $45/hr. depending on experience, plus overtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct thorough Preventative Maintenance Checks, Services, and Repairs on all standard commercial HVAC including but not limited to inspection and repair/replacement of belts and pulleys, inspection and cleaning of condensate drain lines, testing power/performance of compressor, fan motor, blower motor, testing function and safety of burners/heat exchangers, maintenance of chillers/cooling systems, boilers, and function of all safety and operational controls.
• Fully utilizes technology (tablet, smartphone)
• Access and complete work orders including notes on services provided
• Create and submit accurate and complete Service Reports
• Submit timesheets, expense reports, and purchase card logs
• Creates a positive climate with the client, provides and generates customer satisfaction.
• Completes other duties as assigned or required

Qualifications:

• HS diploma or Degree/Certification, or equivalent professional experience in the commercial HVAC trade
• Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver’s license in good standing. EPA Universal.
• 5 years' experience in the commercial HVAC trade as a service technician with experience servicing Air Cooled Chillers and small Centrifugal Chillers. Boiler experience is also desired.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in individual and small group situations.
• Ability to complete assigned work orders in a timely manner and communicate work order status via designated business process.
• Ability to use and operate handheld device and business systems or document management Database software, including but not limited to Microsoft office, Lotus Notes, MS office (word, Excel).
• Track record of complying with all applicable codes, regulation, governmental agency, and company directives related to building operations and work safety.
• Record of maintaining adequate knowledge of and comply with OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) standards and Company safety policies at all times.

Licenses/Certifications:

• EPA Universal
• Must possess applicable certifications, licenses, and valid driver's license in good standing.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen to the company’s satisfaction.
